Here's another one!
And another!
Now I've graduated to the more complex and larger ball. It's more complex becuase there are lots more pieces - shown is for half the ball. Also, there are both pentagons and hexagons. I made it more difficult by my color selection, not wanting like fabrics or shades to touch as much as possible. I love these fabrics!
First I sewed rows, then the rows together.
Here's the half-ball. It took two evenings!

These balls are brilliant! Thanks for posting the pictures of how you put them together.
These are all so beautiful. What do you do with them when they are done? I can imagine a set of holiday balls set in a lovely clear or silver bowl. Or maybe Christmas ornaments.
Thank you! Actually, I don't have to think much about what to do with them since my children grab them as soon as they are done. A friend of mine who sells diaper bags online said she's looking for things to stuff them with, and really liked the balls, but they do take quite a bit of time to make, so I'm not sure it's worth my while. In the meantime I just enjoy my evenings with the kids around me or watching TV and crank 'em out!
Love the patchwork balls. I'd have a collection of these made in my very favorite fabrics. Its a unique way to showcase a collection of fabric, don't you think?
I just belatedly discovered your fabric balls. I am in love they are wonderful. I had seen Ginny Beyers book in quilt magazines and was fascinated and now I will absolutely have to get it and make balls.
