It's been a while, I know. I haven't been doing any sewing since we are (finally) finishing the basement. It's horrible! But at least I will finally have enough light down there, and it won't be a dungeon, but a studio for me and 2 bedrooms for my older girls. My stash is full of dust - I was going to move it upstairs but the contractor assured me they will be fine. They're not. I'll have a lot of laundry to do when all is said and done. I DID use my better judgement and move my sewing machine and serger! Anyway, back to that baby quilt - I decided to add the baby's Hebrew name on the back. After finding a great font, I printed it large and used steam a seam light to attach. I stitched around the letters using a shiny but clear pink thread with a free motion quilting foot. I felt that zig-zagging it would ruin the calligraphy, and used small stitches so it wouldn't fall apart in the wash. This was alot of fun. I'm going to piece the back with some girly fabrics.

The name is a design element in and of itself. Beautiful!
