Finally done! Remember that quilt I was working on for my friend Jackie? Well, I finally finished it and brought it over today. There was a whole family party going on so my timing couldn't be better! Turns out that Baby Sarah is going to be a year in 2 days, so this baby gift turned out to be a birthday gift instead. By the way, did I mention that Jackie is an ob/gyn and genetics specialist? She can get technical with all the male docs in the neighborhood and then still talk to us housewives about the best sales. Quite a character, and all under 5 feet tall!

Miriam -

I love the pink baby quilt! Baby quilts are so much fun to make and give away! Are the squares in this one actually rectangles? I am going to have to try this out.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

hi sarah!
yes, the quilt is made of rectangles. the pattern is from a book entitled something like "quick quilts for the weekend quilter." the quilt in the book was based on yellows and i was in the mood for a mostly pink-yellow contrast with a few others mixed in for "scrappiness." alot of firsts here - my first scrappy quilt, first girl's quilt, and first time connecting strip piecing into a circle and then "unsewing" as in bargello quilting. there's another quilt in the book based on 60 degree triangles all the same size with some great quick piecing methods, and one of my favorite quilters contributed to the book - i believe her name is katherine guerrier.
